SAE screw-in bores of Cartridge valves from different manufacturers may differ slightly, e.g., in the depth and diameter of the valve seat, even if the screw-in thread is the same. Apraksts

These valves reduce a high primary pressure at port 2, to a lower, regulated pressure at port 1.
The pressure relief function enables the oil to flow out via port 3, to the tank if there is overpressure at port 1.
The valves ensure stable operation even at high differential pressures.
